When the unexpected happens to us, we must remember that nothing is a surprise to God! God knows our birth date and our death date. God knows everything that is going to happen to us because He knows our beginning to our ending.
This is when our trust and faith in God is tested. I’m writing from experience. Even though we may feel totally alone, we are not alone. Through God’s Spirit, the power of the Holy Ghost, God is in us the hope of glory. God is the present help in the time of trouble.
Accidents, illnesses, and death happen because we live in a fallen world– Satan’s territory. When Adam and Eve sinned against God in the Garden of Eden, it broke the perfect relationship with God, and it is the cause for all the troubles in life. Problems in life are because of the devil, not God.
God does not stop all evil now. God does not heal everyone now. When Jesus was on earth, He said, “In this world ye shall have tribulation (trouble) but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.” Jesus had to go through the pain of the death on the cross and rise from the dead to give us the hope of our resurrection unto eternal life with Him.
God is touched by the feelings of our infirmities. His earthly stepfather died when he was young. He had to care for his mother until he stepped out in ministry at 33 ½ years. His siblings rejected him. As God in the flesh, he healed the sick and raised the dead, yet he was rejected by almost all.
In the painful, unexpected events in life, we must draw close to God no matter how we are feeling. We must look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith,
Hebrews 12:1-2, – who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross. Be gut honest with God in prayer!
2 Corinthians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.”
