Edward Lorenz presented a hypothesis in 1963 that a butterfly could flap its wings and set molecules of air in motion, which would move other molecules of air, in turn moving more molecules of air—eventually capable of changing the weather on the other side of the planet (The Butterfly Effect by Andy Andrews). A 30-year study by physics professors came to the conclusion that the butterfly effect was authentic, accurate and viable.
God is the creator of the butterfly effect in creation, in His coming in the flesh as Jesus Christ and dying on the cross for our sins. By His crucifixion, His blood still washes away our sins 2,000 years later. The Bible teaches that whatever we do should reflect the glory of God, and we should do everything as unto the Lord.
Andy Andrews wrote, “You have been created in order that you might make a difference. You have within you the power to change the world.” Through my writing articles for this column for 10 years, God has allowed my life to touch thousands of lives nationwide and from other countries in teaching, counseling and writing God’s truth that gives hope and healing to hurting hearts.
We are created in the image of God. We all have a purpose in life. It might not seem grand to you, but what you do does affect everyone around you. Those lives you touch will touch others. What we say and do will be revealed in eternity. I want God to use my “butterfly effect” to touch others and multiply through them for the glory of God!
