…. the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth – 1 Timothy 3:15.
Preaching is powerful. When God set in motion a revival for Israel in Ezekiel 37, did he ask Ezekiel to put together a plan or get the latest community survey results? No. He told him to prophesy to the bones and that they would live again.
Several years ago, Norman Wagner, former PAW presiding bishop, approached me and asked me, “How do you see so many receive the Holy Ghost under your ministry?” My response: “because I preach about it.” Truth is a powerful thing. In fact, the Church of the living God exists solely to be the propagator of truth. For Jesus saves and He makes free by truth. But truth untold is useless.
The greatest advantage the Apostolic movement has is truth! Yet when left on the sidelines, it matters not how good or powerful it is . . . it helps us not. Amazingly, when truth is preached in the right spirit, powerful things happen! Why? God confirms His Word – the truth!
Several years ago, I was ministering in Mexico. And a young couple brought their baby to the meeting, a baby born blind. They were of another faith but came because they had heard that miracles happen in Apostolic services. As they shared with me the baby’s problem, God spoke to me and told me He would heal the baby. So I told them that as a witness of the power of the name of Jesus, and the truth of it being the name of God, I would pray and God would open the eyes of the baby. I did pray. More importantly, God did answer. The baby’s eyes were immediately opened, and Jesus got all the glory!
Ask yourself: when was the last time you fervently preached about Jesus name baptism, the Holy Ghost, one God, righteousness, separation and eternal judgment?
These are great Biblical truths. And when preached, God gives great confirmation of that. Let us never forget, the message is much bigger than the messenger.
