Florida School District Defends taking Elementary Schoolers on Field Trip to Gay Bar
A school district in Florida is standing behind an elementary school field trip to a gay bar.
Christian Headlines reports that Sarah Leonardi, who serves on the Board of Education for Broward County Schools in South Florida, said on Twitter that she had chaperoned a group of students from Wilton Manors Elementary School to Rosie’s Bar and Grill.
“I was SO honored to be invited to chaperone @WitonManorsES’s field trip to the incredible Rosie’s!
“The students and I had a fun walk over and learned a lot about our community! A huge thank you to @RosiesBNG for hosting this special field trip every year.”
Rosie’s menu includes burgers named “Ivana Hooker, “Rhoda Cowboy,” and “Anita Mojito.” One burger has a “Smack My Cheeks and Make ‘em Rosy” sauce, and the “Plain Jane” burger is made from “the sexiest Angus beef cows.”
Meanwhile, critics say the field trip is an example of schools trying to “force leftist ideology onto children.”
“A Broward School Board member takes little kids to a gay bar on a field trip, forcing them to wear masks to ‘keep them safe,’” said Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis.
